life drawing practice
My most recent practising themes have a lot to do with people and their environment. I came to realize that I am constantly inquisitive about how people behave, think, and emotionally influence their surroundings (or vice versa). Life drawing starts as a work-out excersise that I use to learn more about human figures and their actions.
When I pay attention to the movements of the models and any factor that could affect the drawing process, such as how to employ negative spaces to shape the figures, I find that I can “see” my own habits of image-making more clearly. I now understand better how to take control of the outcomes I want.
Gradually life drawing has integrated into my approach. That might not necessarily have to be the final artwork though. It can instead serve as my starting point. I discovered that I must always start with observation, from which my ideas will then develop and expand.
