screenprinting / digital painting / illustration / film poster

nine hitchcock’s heroines

As a continuation of my earlier  Spotlight On Her  series, I was thinking about recasting the nine lead female characters for a set of made-up posters. Nevertheless, I didn’t mean for this collection to be conventional movie posters; instead, I wanted it to be more individualized as portraits of nine actresses, complete with references to the characters they played in the movies. I continued my process by screenprinting eight posters; while the final poster, The Man Who Knew Too Much, was supposed to be a drawn animated GIF.

CMYK screenprinting

process: preparing bitmap files

Hitchcock’s Films Bitmap Version
Files were prepared using CMYK channel separation in Photoshop. Dark blue, purple, and burgundy were the only colors used in the series’ limited color palette because it was designed for 4-color risography and screenprinting.
